Take a look at the following questions and think very hard about how closely you and the requirements meet, take your time
1. Why do you want extensions?
Maybe you just are tired of trying to grow your own hair out, or maybe its for a special occasions, or a new style, either way you need to know if you will either LOVE them or hate them.
You need to make sure its a reason that you are very passionate about, there is alot that goes into extensions and it needs to be a serious thought.
If you know why to the questions above, please continue
2. Do you have the time?
Extensions are just more then achieving long hair, hair extensions need alot of maintaince and care, more then your natural hair due to the fact they are not attached to the scalp they do not receive oil to help maintain moisture content so overwashing the hair will leave it dull and lifeless. Also at night the extensions need to be either wrapped in a scarf or braided and your pillow cover should be satin. If you are a wash and wear kinda girl, or a wash-a-holic then maybe extensions aren't so much for you?
3. Do you have the money?
It really isn't cheap by any means, whether it be the cheaper hair or the high priced hair its really never below at least $500 and most times that is just for the hair. Are you able to spare that sort of money, do you have the extra cash? Also are you willing to pay higher for better hair to wear longer or do you need something just for an event, more temporary , do you want pre bonded hair or clip ins? These are all different costs and types, make sure you know what you need and want.
Once you know what you want, then its knowing that your going to be seated for at least 3 hours to 6 or 7 for pre bonded (individual pre bonded hair that you can wear for up to 6 months) do you have that much time to spare on top of everything else, are you paitient? Then know that the stylist, who you have already put a deposit with days prior, blocked off their book for those hours, and the process is done by hand so the price for that will always be high. Most cases its upwards of $100 an hour or more.
4. Are you serious about maintaince?
Hair extensions need maintainced regularly so that way your stylist can make sure all the bonds are secure and your maintaining them like you have both discussed and/or if your having any problems.
You can't just go get extensions and then disappear never to be seen again, its a relationship between you and your stylist to keep your hair looking amazing job and making sure you LOVE it.
Last but not least the most important question.
6. Do you understand the Prerequisites for Hair Extensions?
There is alot of thought and care that go into hair extensions, but done correctly and treated seriously the results are absolutely beautiful and who doesn't love skipping that awkward inbetween stage?
